Magazine Proposal

MASTHEAD…

The audience chose the masthead font

‘code by font fabric’. I would consider

creating this font on illustrator or use it

straight from da font site.

COLOUR SCHEME…

The audience chose the colour scheme

light grey, yellow and black for my

magazine, but I did prefer the colour

scheme dark red, white and black.

PRICING?One of the questions asked by my audience was the pricing of Origin

magazine I said £2.99 but the audience said it would need to be a magazine with

at least 80 pages or more.

B&S magazine (one of my case studies) has 50 pages and the price is £3.95.

My final decision is to make the price of Origin magazine £2.00 as this is an

affordable price to the target audience.

ORIGIN IS A MONTHLY MAG…

Originally I wanted to make the

magazine a two monthly magazine but

the audience said that doesn’t exist so I

changed Origin magazine to a monthly

magazine as this makes things more

easier.

GAP IN THE MARKET?

Origin’s attention would be on modern

soul artists. I think there is a gap in the

market because other music magazines

such as B&S magazine don’t really talk

about modern soulful artists.

This would be ideal for my target

audience as they are young adults.

COMPETITORS…

One of my competitors are Vibe

magazine. The audience said the only

way they would buy my magazine is if

the features were better than vibe by

making it more interesting.

AIMS…

1. FOCUS ON AMERICAN CULTURE – the audience said they would be more interested in US stars as they are more experience and popular.

2. MAKE IT MORE UK BASED – by doing features on upcoming artists in the UK that are soul and RnB.

3. APPEAL TO FEMALE AUDIENCES – to make ORIGIN a both gendered magazine (more readers). Doing female soulful artists.
