Assignment 41 – Foley and sound design planning and production
evidenceSam, Idrees, Jake and Charlie
Applications for this planning/production
• iMovie 10.0.7 • Garage band
Creation of Foleys (experiments)
• To create the sound of sizzling/hissing, you run cold water onto a hot metal object, for example a frying pan. This creates steam because the water quickly condenses and cools, and also the creation of a sizzling sound because of the quick reaction.
• To make the sound of a door squeak loudly, you need to get an old wooden door with metal, such as copper, hinges and oil. Rub the oil onto the metal hinges so that, when you open the door, the sound creaks.

Production evidence of sound showing an intense scene
Fast and intense music to show a dramatic scene – what is Jake smiling about?
The music is a crescendo, so it becomes louder as the scene goes on, leading to a rise in tension.
String instruments can be very quick in pace
