The distribution company we have gone for is…

…Warner Bros Entertainment

Why???

Similar films• Warner bros has distributed films in this subgenre that were very successful in box office,

such as:a. The Twilight saga (2008-2012) - very successful films. The first one – Twilight – made $392

million in box office.b. Interview with the vampire: the vampire chronicles (1994) – another successful vampire film

that made a large box office ($223 million)• This is important because it shows that the distribution company has very successfully

distributed, marketed and exhibited films that are in this genre. Therefore, there is a higher chance (than that of most other distribution companies) that this film will be successful with this distribution company.

Conglomerate• The fact that Warner Bros is one of the 6 major conglomerates in the world means that the

company is very large and can invest a lot of money into this film. • It also means that the film would get wide publicity as Warner Bros is a well know distributer

conglomerate (so lots of people know about their activities (in terms of filmography) because they are so big). This will mean that there is a higher chance of our production company of making a larger profit than if we decided to go with an independent company (because they are not as well known).

Similar release (and exhibition) locations

• Many modern Warner Bros films get released into UK cinemas (and RBWM cinemas, such as the Odeon in Maidenhead): such as Twilight.

• Therefore this distribution company can release and exhibit our film in the borough, or be shown in the borough, meaning that people from the local area can go to see it at their local cinema. Also, because the film is local and British, local audiences (and UK) are more able to relate with our story (because it is part of our culture).

Similar distribution/marketing area• Warner Bros films are distributed and marketed in local areas and across the globe. They are

able to spend this kind of money because they are very rich. • They market, on a global scale, on products such as Coke or McDonalds, and on local scales,

such as on a bus stop shelter in Windsor. • This means that, with Warner Bros distributing, that our film would be able to be seen

everywhere as they market in most Western cultures.
