Afterward they can see the mistakes they’ve made and make corrections so

When students don’t hand in an assignment that’s a zero in the grade book.

Hopefully it’ll encourage them to do better next time; besides, what else

can I do?

summative, are part of determining the grades

If students do poorly on a summative test I can just make that a formative test (not for marks) on a student by student basis.
