Materials

•Watercolor Paints

•Paint Brush (#3)

•Water Container

•Color Pencils

•White Paper (5” x 12”)

Step 1: Wavy Stripes

Start with black watercolor paint and create a wavy stripe going from one end of paper to other breaking the space in half.

Wavy Stripes Continued

Begin to alternate through colors creating new wavy stripes across paper without overlapping each other.

Continue to alternate between colors.

As paper gets filled take time to let stripes dry before painting new stripes. This will help prevent smudging.

Once paper is filled with at least 12 stripes and no more than 18 let dry.

Step 2: Color Pencil

Using color pencils begin to fill in white spaces alternating colors just as we did with paints.

Colors may be repeated but make sure they are not in spaces that are touching each other.

Step 3: Frame and Finish

Use a piece of black construction paper to mount finished image on and hang on wall for showing.
