Laksamana shophouses Lot No. 40,42, Malacca
Based upon site observation, I incorporated the idea of using pencil and poster-
colouring to give a strong idea of the Laksamana shophouses and its site context.
Plans, elevations and section were included as an expression of the
understanding of the shophouses to explore how spaces are created from the
making of architectural elements.

In a group, we conducted site measurement work to initiate the preliminary
conceptual approach of the shophouse design. Then, we produced
architectural drawings such as floor plans, elevations, sections, doors and
windows details and ornamental details. A shophouse model was made to
show the quality of space.

Based on building analysis, we documented the architecture and the significance of the Laksamana
shophouses in terms of architectural, cultural and historical aspects.
