Program ObjectivesConcise History: The thirty chapters of essential historical content and accessible explanation of events are the heart of the book. Each of the six periods is introduced with summaries and key AP concepts.
Maps and Graphics: Maps, charts, graphs, cartoons, photographs, and other visual materials are also integrated into the text to help you practice analytical skills.
Historical Perspectives: Each chapter includes a section that introduces significant historical issues and conflicting interpretations.
Key Terms by Themes: In each chapter, a list of key terms organized by theme is included to aid in a review of the chapter.Multiple-Choice Questions: Each chapter contains 10 multiple-choice questions to assess your historical knowledge and skills using a variety of sources.
Document-Based Questions: Each chapter will conclude with one DBQ for practice.
Continuity and Change-Over-Time Essay Questions and Comparative Essay Questions: Each chapter contains a Continuity and Change-over-Time Essay question and a Comparative Essay question. Each also has two additional questions for extra practice.
Practice Examination: Following the final chapter, a complete practice examination is provided.

Similar to the AP U.S. History framework, because
most trends have causes, historians seek to identify the most significant short-and long-term causes and
