Andy Warhol is one of the most influential figures in the painting of the second half of the century. He was born in Pittsburgh in 1929 and died in 1987 in New York.

Andy Warhol is considered the founder and the most revealing figure called pop art. He graduated from Carnegie Institute of Tecnology 1949. In New York he began to gain fame as a commercial artist.

In 1960 he made his first painting based on comic characters (like Popeye or Superman). He was also a pioneer in the development process of grand format photographs , after using them as the basis for his oil painting or ink. It was this technique which allowed to produce a respective series of images with small variations. He began making films. In 1965 he started working in a rock band called The Velvet Undergroung .

styleAndy Warhol style perfectly illustrates the transfer and copy . Silkscreen, modern technology and development , printing a color… With screen printing, Warhol revolutionized the existing concept of authenticity and questioned the importance of labor as executing artist .
