What is Android?

• Android is an operating system based on Linux with a Java programming interface.

• The Android Software Development Kit (Android SDK) provides all necessary tools to develop Android applications. This includes a compiler, debugger and a device emulator, as well as its own virtual machine to run Android programs.

Supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 3G and 4G networking

Before start android application development.What should you know before developing an

android application?

• We should have knowledge about core java. That is most used in Android.

• In android design screen layout are created in XML so we should have little knowledge about xml tags.

Android Market

• Google Play requires a one time fee, currently 25 Dollar. After that the developer can directly upload his application and the required icons, under Google Play Publishing .

• Google Play service in which programmers can offer their Android application to Android users.

• It offers an update service, if a programmer uploads a new version.
