The real story that those logs imply is as hypnotically fascinating as any form of fiction or non-fiction [] The ship and crew became friends and even the handwriting became clues as to whom had the watch for the day.Eveleigh et al. 2013
I have just entered the name of an officer who died in 1914 into Ancestry and found someone researching him. i decided to contact that person and give them the info i have found. I thought this is a good way for genealogists to share some of this information - as a genealogist i would be thrilled if someone offered me some! it's a good way for us to get some information out to those who are interested, as i am finding it frustrating that there is so much info that people won't discover. this has now spurred me on far more as i hope i can help other genealogists! what do others think?talk.operationwardiary.org
Oh just like in the evening, you know for an hour or two before I went to bed or something, you know at home, something like that. And not every day, only on days when I had time. It was a pretty informal thing, yeah.Eveleigh et al. 2014
I have only occasional opportunities to enjoy time on Old Weather, but it can be a delightful escape. I choose not to use its interactive features because this is one of the places I go for me time.Eveleigh et al. 2014
I have tried most of the Zooniverse projects. On a couple I didnt feel that I was doing a good job (and didnt enjoy that feeling!), so I soon stopped. On others, I felt that I was doing something useful, so I continued to work on them even if it wasnt that interesting.Eveleigh et al. 2014
Like many Zooniverse projects, the user community is talking to and educating each other. In the case of papyrology, some have done their own online research to learn more about ancient Greek writing on papyrus, and are coming back into Ancient Lives to guide others.James Brusuelas
Some regular feedback (as occurred after the first week) would be good! Totals tagged so far....diaries, pages, names, places, etc...talk.operationwardiary.org
