The red used on the front cover co-notates blood which relates to the genre of the magazine. It makes certain words stand out more to the reader. The band member

on the front is quite in your face which represents the music that the band plays. The image is quite big and fills the front cover, it shows the main subject of the magazine is ‘Slipknot’. The music is quite in your face and quite heavy. The magazine front cover represents the reader/audience very well.

The font is big and bold. It stands out very well on the white background as they contrast each other.

‘Somebody's gonna get killed’ reflects the target audience and could be a reference to their gigs and the mosh pits.

The banner at the bottom is very bright and bold. The ‘free posters’ that advertises the certain bands; ymas, Elliot Minor, kids in glass houses, the blackout and dead swans attracts the eye of the audience more as they are getting more out of the magazine than just the band gossip and information.

The layout of the cover is really simple but is well presented. It attracts the target audience well with the use of colours, pictures and fonts.

The title is really simple and bold. The font is suitable for the audience targeted as its squared and quite modern.The band member on the front is the main feature of the magazine and fills most of the page. His hand gesture represents his attitude and the attitude of the fans. Its like he's saying ‘screw the other bands, lost prophets are better’.

The ‘free posters’ advertisement attracts the target audience well as they are getting something out of the magazine for themselves. The colour of the font used makes it stand out even more.

The layout of the front cover is quite complex and has a good use of images/information. It targets its audience very well with the use of fonts and range of colours. The fonts are very bold bright and quite modern. It suits its targets audience and catches the eye of them very well. The colours (yellow,red,white and black) used for the font, background and objects.

The banner at the top of the page is bright and bold. The genre of the music is pop/rock/punk so attracts different audiences aswell as the target audience.

The title ‘Kerrang’ is full-size and bold. It stands out well on the black background as they contrast each other.

The band on the cover represent the style of music well. The image is quite big and fills most of the page. It represents the reader/audience very well.

The title is quite in your face and quite heavy. It shows that the main subject of the magazine is ‘Avenged Sevenfold’.

Draws readers attention. Its bright and bold. ‘First’ is red and bold, which suggests its importance. First interview of a famous, well liked band will catch many readers eyes.

The banner is bold and bright. It advertises the types of band included in the magazine well as it is bright. The use of colours e.g. red and white contrasts well with the black.

The quote is bold and bright. Its shows what the article is mainly based on and what its about.

The images of live performances. They are monochrome, which makes the text stand out more because its bright.

The image takes up one whole page.

The band member looks angry and ready for “destruction” He's bigger than the image of London, its as if he's going to take over the world.

The font looks as if its been destroyed as to represent the title of ‘destruction’

The band members looks angry and quite threatening. This is good as it represents the type of music they play.

The font is bright and bold. The “raw” and “dirty” is quite loud and matches the type of music that the audience listens to.

The layout is “busy” and looks like a collage.

The picture here is relating to the caption which suggests this is their home town. This would catch the audiences eye, as it lets them into the bands personal lives.

The text is aligned to the right of the page, this is a typical magazine convention. A Sans-serif font is also used which can be easily read by readers

Images have been included to show what's included in the magazine which will attract the reader even more.

The block letters and bright letters match the target audience.

The band at the top of the page looks like the main feature of the magazine as the image is bigger than the others.

The colour scheme is black, yellow and white. The yellow stands out on the black, because it’s the first thing you see. The black contrasts well on the white.

The sub-headings are highlighted so that it’s the first thing you see.

The layout of the page is simple and plain. Its easy to read.

The red connotates anger, passion and power which matches the gesture of the band member on the right hand side.

The gesture of the band member matches the red as it stands for power and anger.

The red stands out well on the white background.

The text is aligned to the left and the images are aligned to the right.

Black and red are contrasting colours.

The contents page of 'MOJO' magazine features, at the top of the page, the word 'MOJO', as appose to contents.

The contents page feature headings in a bold text, information under the heading about that feature and also, images relating to one, or more, of the features in the magazine.

Along the left hand side of the page says what's included in the magazine. The page numbers which are in bold, standing out and showing the reader clearly what the feature is and where to find it.

The text is in a san-serif font which is easy to read. Its big and Bold which catches the eye.

The descriptions go from long to short, still, in each case, not giving too much away about the content this attracts the reader to read on.Under each sub-title is a small description of what's included.
