Analysis of fonts and colour palette American Typewriter Magazine Fonts: To research different fonts to use as a title on my cover page, I used some fonts from Power Point and looked on the website dafont.com. On this website I found a number of fonts which were inspired by comic styles and designs. These would be suited for my magazine as this font is eye catching but is still related to Alternative and Indie music styles. This font would be used for the main title, however I think the font American Typewriter Colour Palette: The basic colours I have chosen for my magazine are pinks, purples, blues and reds and black and white. These colours are all complementary and I believe they are all very similar to The 1975, which my inspiration for my magazine. The colours are all pastel colours, however The 1975 use neon and bold colours too which is a signature style for them. These colours may be ‘too safe’ so the magazine may not stand out or, it may resemble more of a Mainstream Pop look, rather than an Alternative/ Indie/ Rock style. Analysis of fonts and colour palette American TypewriterMagazine

Fonts:To research different fonts to use as a title on my cover page, I used some fonts from Power Point and looked on the website dafont.com. On this website I found a number of fonts which were inspired by comic styles and designs. These would be suited for my magazine as this font is eye catching but is still related to Alternative and Indie music styles. This font would be used for the main title, however I think the font American Typewriter would be an appropriate font to use for the main text throughout the magazine as it is simple but it reminds me of a Clash or Dazed and Confused magazine which also inspired me.

Colour Palette:The basic colours I have chosen for my magazine are pinks, purples, blues and reds and black and white. I think using a wide variety of colours can draw people in, however it can also look too much and look cheap and childish. I think a smaller number of colours will be more affective and will represent the style I am trying to achieve. The style I would like to achieve is a retro magazine look with simple, but effective colours and fonts to look like a magazine from the 1950s.
