After watching this scene a few times I decided on which shots were my favourite parts of his routine. Each shot has inspired me to choose certain shots for my production.

These two shots inspired me to attempt a mirror shot in my coursework, I thought that they were both so well done. Even though the first screenshot isn’t actually in a mirror the actor’s reflection is still visible and I think its extremely effective and makes him look menacing, whereas In the second screenshot it is a mirror and you can clearly see him and his reflection. Out of the two I want to attempt the mirror shot as I have always been amazed by the camera not being in shot.

Shower shots like a mirror shots have always intrigued me, the camera person always seems to be able to get so close to the actor without any splash marks on the lens, this is a shot I am interested in looking into but due to the age of my actor I do not think I will be using it within my coursework.

I liked this shot as it gives you a closer look into his life not just his routine, the contents of a mans freezer can tell you a great deal about them. In my piece I want to subtly give away things about my character’s personality, likes, habits and hobbies. I think I will attempt to do the same things as this shot as I think it is extremely clever. By using a medium shot here the camera person has been able to again capture a fair bit of the surroundings of the character but keep him as the main focus, by showing him doing exercise in the morning it also explains a bit more about his personality to the viewer as it’s not something that stereotypically everyone would do in the morning before heading into their day.

These two shots are both close ups on the main characters face during his morning routine, my favourite out of the two is the right shot. My reasoning for this is that, it seems much more personal to the viewer. It almost looks as if he is looking at you or just past you( due to the mirror effect) and that adds to the characters mysteriousness. Close ups are always emotive In which ever way you tell the actor to be so I think I will attempt a mirror close up in my project.
