All About CellsBenjamin BeldenEDIM 510
This is a typicalanimal cell.
In order for a cell to survive it must perform
four basic functions.
It needs food in order to produce energy through
respiration.
It needs to excrete waste in order to keep from being poisoned.
It needs to sense its environment to obtain
resources and stay safe.
And it needs to reproduce so that there will be more cells in the
future.
How are cells able to perform these
functions?
How are cells able to perform these
functions?
WITH ORGANELLES!
HERE ARE SOME OF THE MOST COMMON ORGANELLES
…AND THEIR ROLE IN HELPING THE CELL TO SURVIVE
CYTOPLASM helps hold the organelles in place.
NUCLEUS is the control center for everything
else.
E.R. produces and stores materials to build
the cell
MITOCHONDRION release energy from
food
RIBOSOMES produce protein to help amino
acids
AND WHEN ALL OF THE
ORGANELLES WORK
TOGETHER…
THEY HELP EVERYTHING COME INTO
