Here it is :P
I will look at the foods and traditions of the Algerian people, as well as SOME geographical information!
• The population is around 34,895,000
• Along the costal area it is hilly, mountainous and there are even some natural harbours
• The area along the coasts are fertile
• The Ahagger mountain, know as the Hogger, is the highest mountain in Algeria, located in the south of Algeria.
•The capital city is Algiers
• The official language is Arabic
• Algeria’s national food is couscous
• They drink a starchy called salhab in the winter
• The favourite drink throughout alegeria is mint herbal tea
• They use many seasons in their food
• Mechoui is the name of roasted lamb that has been cooked outside. It is usually seasoned with herb butter
• Every meal is accompanied with bread, usually a french loaf
• Rai music is very popular, a folk music based style, and is sung at festivals, weddings etc.
• The people are very focused on arts and crafts, making almost everything by hand
• Most of the people of Algeria are Muslim, and the community celebrate the Islamic festivals, e.g. Ramadan
• Marriage is an important thing for Algerians, the husband provides the most money and the wife will look after the children, or in some poorer parts attempt to do both
I don’t really have an opinion of Algerians! I know they have a very spiritual background and love of the arts but I cannot judge them on that alone! They are peaceful people that deserve respect!
