It takes 1 Great mind to make great books and rise to the top! Author Veronica Roth born August 19 1988, age 25, she wrote New York Times Best Selling novels, Divergent, Insurgent and Allegiant. The books were published for peoples enjoyment.

May 3rd 2011 was the first publishing date for Veronicas first book Divergent. The novel made it onto the New York Times list at #6 when it was released. Six weeks later it was on the list at #8.

The Divergent novels were published a year at a time. In 2012 May 1st Insurgent was released, and then another year later Allegiant was released. People loved the first novel they just wanted to read the other novels “ I loved the books, when I read Divergent I wanted the other novels,” stated a 7th grader.

In 2014 Veronica had Divergent turned into a film. Because her books were so popular, everyone wanted to watch it. On IMDb the ratings for Divergent were 7.6 out of ten. The movie was filled with romance, adaptation, adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, thriller. The movie also included action but maybe not enough to put it on top. Grade 7th teacher stated; “If you were to compare the movie to the book, the book had way more action, the movie could have added more. Like when Tris was hung over the chasm in the book, it was thrilling, but in the movie it was over in a minute.”

Veronica Roth was on her way to the top with her great books, and then had a hiccup with the movie and was not as successful.

All the cast from Divergent.

After 3 of Veronicas books being published, it was time for the cast to be picked, the props to be set, and Divergent was then ready to be seen by the world, on March 21st 2014.

When the cast was picked they picked Shailene Woods for Tris, Theo James as Four, Miles Teller as Peter, Jai Courtney played Eric, Zoe Kravitz played Christina. When the producers picked the cast, people wondered if they went to the book to make sure that the cast matched their character that they are playing?

In the book, Tris is a small, weak, skinny stiff; “You don’t have much muscle.” says Four while Christina is a tall, more buff candor girl. Peter is a violent, strong, muscular boy. The cast they picked looked and is described nothing like the characters in the book.

Tris in the movie is strong looking and is not small and weak and is also tall, which is the opposite of Tris in the book, Christina in the movie is also the complete opposite then the book character because in the movie Christina is short, weak, small and skinny. Peter in the movie is just not as bad mouth and violent then he is in the book. Four, Eric the other characters fit the role they play.

The producers picked these actors because they are famous and will make them money, they were not necessarily the best actors for the characters they are supposed to play. Even though, the characters in the movie didn’t match their character in the book, the producers made it work.

Four is the new dog, and cant get away from his owner.

When Tris wasn’t in Dauntless, some could say Four was lost, but when Tris transferred to Dauntless, its like Four found himself and opened himself up.

When Four first saw Tris, it wasn’t Tris it was Beatrice. Four was a very intimidating person at first. When Tris began to understand Four and how he acts to everything, he wasn’t as intimidating.

Through the Divergent book, people could say that Four has a thing for Tris, like maybe Four has found someone to follow, someone to watch or maybe someone to love.

“I’m seeking higher ground.” Tris says to Four; “All Right. I’m coming.” Four replies. You can defiantly tell he likes her not only because he wouldn’t do that for anyone else but because he’s afraid of heights; “ Your afraid of heights? How do you survive in the Dauntless compound?” Tris asks; “I Ignore my fear.” Fours answers back. Fours love for Tris grows stronger everyday, which might not be the safest thing right now in these stages of initiation.

Four also shows his dog like personality when Tris is almost hung to her death over the chasm, and Four just “magically” appears to save the day? Was he actually coming from the control room or was he following her like a dog?

Seeing Four care for Tris that much, just shows that he really likes her and would do anything for her no matter what situation they are in. Four may be a dog to Tris, but its better for her, for him to be a dog so she has protection.
