Front Cover 1: Late Registration

The artist’s name and album title are not in the correct case, which may represent illiteracy as West is self-pro-claimed ‘(The) College Drop Out’ akin to his 2004 album title.

The doors being much larger than the figure, represents the emptiness of the university as he is late, and everyone else is inside. The school (doors) has the advantage as the figure looks hesitant about being late, possibly being late to university.

The album artwork centres around ‘Dropout Bear’, who is wearing college attire,

The emptiness of the university is signified by the darkness possibly hinting to the feel of the music.

The Parental Advisory label fixed by the RIAA ( Recording Industry Association of America), warning parents of explicit language and/or lyrical content.

Back Cover: Late Registration The back cover is

not covered in production details and a track list. West probably wanted the image of the bear leaving the university to be the main focus of the album back cover as we saw it come in at the front, and now we see it leaving.

The track list is printed side ways.

Kanye West’s name is featured in the Executive Producers section.

Logo of his record company (Roc-a-Fella records) and various other company logos.

Front Cover 2: Graduation

West teamed up with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami (the Warhole of Japan).

The ‘Dropout Bear’ which represents West, as in most of his album covers; West is being shot out of college or high school which seems like his first taste of freedom. This album cover is the visual conclusion of the story of the bear trying to over come obstacles to try and get to the ceremony in time.

The mortar board hats which are warn by students during their Graduation mirrors the album title. The fictional university in West’s album covers, is called Universe City.

The colourful pastel imagery is influenced by anime and manga.

The space environment is represented by the purple and pink skies creating an unearthly atmosphere.

The title is in a plain font, and like West’s previous album ‘Late Registration’, the title is in incorrect cases.

The perspective of the image is that we see the bear being blasted at us, while being able to see the bears peers watching on from behind.

Track List, is not in a straight line as it indents away from the mortar board hat. The font is also very simple

The artwork on the back is the same as the artwork at the front only it is in the perspective of the back view, as we see the bear blasted away from us rather than at us (like the front cover).
