What did you read in “The Art Summarizing” that you can steal and adapt for your own source summaries that you will write for your Exploratory Essay?

(Stumped? Compare what you annotated in the reading with the second category of the rubric for the Extended Journal Response).

Practice writing a 1-2 sentence Introductory Summary that hits all the points mentioned in category 2 of the Extended Journal Response Rubric:

“Writer includes a brief, overall summary of the reading, including the author’s name, main idea (even if that’s not the insight you will be focusing on) and where and when the piece originally appeared.”

Do this either for the reading “The Art of Summarizing” or for one of your sources if you have it and the annotation with you.
