Also there are photo frames in the window and on the shelves which connotes that the family are close. The family is wearing traditional clothing which suggests that religion is a major theme in the film. The shot denotes a pan following the mum walking from the dad on the left to the kids on the right. This is all one slow pace take and the editing is minimal. The pan represents the mum as a person who connects the family together as the camera follows her only, and there is camera movement instead of editing. You can’t denote interference from the editors work. You can also denote natural lighting. You can denote the father of the family and the boy wearing English clothes in contrast to the women and this represents the location which is Britain to be multicultural as they are not ashamed to wear their clothes as well as mix in with the traditions in Britain. The fact that the shot denotes the kids talking happily to their mother connotes the theme of good parenthood.

In this screen grab, you can denote the mother of the family taking out tea into cups and the camera following the movements of the girl passing the cups to the guests. This is all done in one shot and you can see the camera moving slightly and this connotes that the editing has flaws even though you don’t notice it much. The shot denotes natural lighting and the audio used in this shot is the dialogue of the family talking to each other. The camera movement denotes a general slow movement. This represents the mother and girl to be helpful and the people who do the work whilst the men are being served and this represents the woman as people who work at home and the men as people who have a higher class in society. This represents the theme of sexism.

These shot reverse shots denote the main man and the main woman in the film talking to another couple and the shot reverse shot connotes the reactions of what they are talking about. The pace is quite fast and this matches the fact that they are in a club. The cuts are quite smooth and follows the 180 degrees rule. The editing on the dialogue is not noticeable. The pace is generally slow but the music in the background makes it look faster. These shots represent the characters as people who are satisfied with their lives and this is unusual for a BSR film.

This artistic establishing shot denotes the title of the film and an overview of a city. This shot is a slow pan right and shows factories and houses. This represents the area as a working class area and the weather which connotes pathetic fallacy represents the fact that the film shows an everyday life cycle with the grey clouds.

This mid shot of the girl denotes her taking off her school uniform to show that she supports a different football team then the rest of society. This already represents the theme of childhood and social society. It also shows that she is different to the rest of the school from the responses she gets from most of the students listening and this connotes the theme of isolation. The hand held camera denotes slight jerky camera movements and this is typical of a British Social Realism film. The camera follows the rule of thirds to an extent and the framing is off as there are people and equipment at the back out of positioning and this is also typical of a BSR film.

This close up denotes the man looking from outside the door at the teacher inside and his posture connotes that he does not want to be caught. The shot which is a hand held camera technique follows the rule of thirds however it also has loose framing. You also see what he is looking at after a cut however you can see his point of view from a different angle as you cannot tell that he is looking through a door from a side angle. This is very important in BSR films. This shot represents the characters of men as sneaky. This also represents the theme of religion as you can connotes by his facial expressions that he in interested in the teacher but as he is a Pakistani man, it is against his culture to love a woman outside is culture.
