ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF TAKING PART IN THE
EU
1. INTERNATIONAL MARKETThe job market is favoured; the employers
can move to all those countries where there is a great demand of jobs.
Each european country is focused in those areas which are more popular for them. In
this way there is an increasement of a qualitative production.
Big companies economy is favoured because they sell wherever they want. This allows to
have a wide market.
2. SINGLE CURRENCY
The single currency avoids risks helping
companies to establish in the
different european countries. In that
way they don´t lose money.
3. FREE MOBILITY IN THE EU• Free moving of people improves european
citizeans mobility.• It´s an advantage both for tourism and the job
market. In addition it increase training opportunities.
4. THE EUROPEAN FUNDSThe EU provides aids to its
countries in order to achieve a better income distribution and to ensure equality among citiziens
6. REDUCTION OF THE DIRECT COSTS
Internal customs have been eleminated; they supposed administrative and official costs, and
also some underdevelopment. The euro has supposed the cutting of costs and
risks with currency changes.
7. ENVIRONMENTAL CARE
In the 1970s and 1980s the focus was on traditional environmental themes such as
protecting species and improving the quality of the air we breathe or the water we drink by
reducing emissions of pollutants.
Now, the emphasis is on a more systematic approach that takes into account of links between various themes and their global dimension. This means moving from remediation to prevention of environmental degradation.
8. AVOID PROBLEMS
The European Union avoids problems among theirs country members, this contributes to
the peace and to the world estability.
9. THE BIGGEST ECONOMIC POWER OF THE WORLD
• The European Union gets stronger the nation position which belongs to the international area.
• To negotiate with the European Union is to deal with the biggest economical power of the world.
10. EUROPEAN CITIZIENS RIGHTS
These rights were established in “Tratado de Maastricht, 1/11/93”
• The european citizien can move and live wherever he wants in the EU
• Freedom of vote in the European Parlament and general elections.
• The citizien is protected by the diplomathic and consular authorities.
