PROJECT 1.- Knowing the Diversity of Ecosystems in Mexico.
SUBJECT: Ecology. GRADED LEVEL: 12th (17 years old) CLASS: 6th C.
___________________________________________________________________
AIM Research and present information about all the ecosystems in Mexico, taking into consideration that it is one of the 12 called megadiverse countries in the world.
PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Mexico is one of the 12 megadiverse countries in the world because of its big biological diversity. Brazil, China, India, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Madagascar, Indonesia, Congo, Australia, Malaysia and Mexico all together have between 60-70% of all the biodiversity in the world. The huge diversity in our country obeys mainly to the complex topography it has. This project will allow students to know and understand the different ecosystems that integrate the Mexican Biodiversity.
The research will be held by teams of four students, all of them will share information they find from different resources and discuss each other to get an only one conclusion. The work will be presented online through a mind map by using the learning tool called popplet, this application allows students to share information, think and learn visually. It is very important to add images which can describe in a better way the main characteristics of an ecosystem, such as: geographical location, climate, fauna, flora and others.
GUIDELINES:
v The teams will be integrated by four students. v To work on their projects, the communication between the partners will be
through a closed group that the instructor will create in advance. v It’s very important to design the leader of the group in order to maintain
communication with the instructor to clarify doubts or make suggestions. v The submission deadline for the assignment is Saturday, March 1st, at 8:59
pm. v The assignment will be accepted only on a Popplet presentation. If you
don’t have an account, create one, you can use the free option. v Students can add as many popplets with text or images as they need to
demonstrate the total of ecosystems in Mexico as well as the main characteristics of each one.
v The instructor will be constantly monitoring the discussion project forum on the platform to keep communication with and / or answer questions of students.
