I thought about it, and decided that I would use it as a sort of introductory image formy Unit Plan on Adrienne Rich, and that it would serve as an “In Memory” piece. After that, I located the image/s I wished to use. At first I selected a few, but when I had finished the first time, it felt cluttered, and I wasn’t happy with the final product. So, the first that I did was decided on what I wanted to use the piece for. I thought about

it, and decided that I would use it as a sort of introductory image formy Unit Plan on Adrienne

Rich, and that it would serve as an “In Memory” piece.

After that, I located the image/s I wished to use. At first I selected a few, but when I had

finished the first time, it felt cluttered, and I wasn’t happy with the final product. The second

time around, I chose to use only an image of Adrienne Rich, and to impose her poetry on her

silhouette.

Next, I looked for a tutorial on Lynda on doing this (I have history with photoshop, so I

didn’t really need to relearn the basics), but I couldn’t find a video on how to accomplish what I

wanted to do. So, I turned to Youtube, and found a video that explains step-by-step how to

accomplish creating the desired results. So, after watching the video, I played it through side by

side with my GIMP workspace, and created my piece. I also decided that I would use shades of

blue because the poetry piece I imposed on her silhouette is about diving underwater, and I

wanted it to have that water-esque feel to it.
