4. Strengthen and expand community and business partnerships across the district (ELCC Standards 3, 4, 6)
Recruit volunteers to assist in tutoring
Align curriculum to state standards
Implement Study Island into all science classes
GOAL #1: IMPROVE BIO KEYSTONE
Volunteers allow one on one interactions that allow students to get help in specific need areas
Alignment to state standards will ensure our students are getting the right information every year
Study Island has been a key to our success in Math and Reading state testing for years
GOAL #2: IMPROVE CAREER READINESS
Create a career exploration program
Provide more opportunities for job shadowing
Guide students with a mentorship program involving the community
Students will begin to explore possible careers earlier, in ninth grade!
Job shadowing will allow juniors to use school time to get first hand job experience
The new mentoring program will allow the many motivated business people in our community the opportunity to work with seniors as they plan their futures.
Train parents, community, and businesses to recognize and stop bullies
Hold community eventsConduct class meetings to put students
in the driver’s seat
GOAL #3: REDUCE BULLYING
The community and businesses must be involved to ensure the message doesn’t end at the fi nal bell.
Students must feel empowered to create a positive atmosphere of respect and understanding
We will train students to become defenders who do not accept bullying
Mellott Company activities have been a huge success
JLG has empowered our welding program
New opportunities must be identified
GOAL #4: STRENGTHEN AND INCREASE COMMUNITY TIES
Our partnership with JLG has given our welding program a major lift
We should use our relationship with Paul Mellott and the Mellott Company as the template for all business interactions
We must seek out and form partnerships with more local businesses and organizations.
We can’t afford to not take advantage of our generous community.
GOALS IN SYNERGY
Success in one area will translate to success in the others areas in a never-ending cycle of improvement
Community involvement will help us to earn better test scores, which will inspire confidence
Students will plan their futures with this confidence
Inspired students with a plan will work to create a better environment for everyone
This atmosphere will be attractive as we try to gain more community support
LET’S TRADE IN OUR BRONZE MEDAL FOR A GOLD!
We can get Southern Fulton on the list!
We’re off to a good start!
