What is an Adjective?

An adjective is a describing word. It tells you about a noun, or describes it.

Let’s look at some examples.

beautiful

She is a beautiful lady.

long

My mother likes to wear a long skirt.

tiny

The tiny puppy can fit into a cup!

hungry

The hungry man wants more food.

hard

I like to eat hard-boiled eggs for breakfast.

strong

The strong man is able to lift the heavy boulder.

crumpled

I need to iron my crumpled dress.

wet

Be careful when you walk on the wet floor.

dry

Please pass me a dry towel to wipe my feet.
