Biography

● Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States.

● Preserved the Union during the U.S Civil War and brought the emancipation of slaves

● His occupations (job) were Civil rights Activist, U.S. representative, Lawyer, and U.S. president

● Lincoln was born on February 12,1809. He was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky.

● He died on April 15, 1865, in Washington, D.C. ● People will call him Honest Abe and The Great

Emancipator. He was the tallest president of the U.S.

integrity and his strong belief in his principles● He was responsible on everything he did or had to do● He never changed meaning he still had the same traits.

● Abraham Lincoln was a self-educated man● He mostly learned everything from books● When his mother died, him and his father left their cabin and

came back with his new mother which is who started his childhood education.

● Lincoln first went to school in 1815-1816 during the winter,he was six years old at the time

● He always walked four miles just to get to school and he will always arrive early.

Before the Civil War Abraham Lincoln gave a famous speech called the Emancipation ProclamationHe gained supported by saying the slave owners shall be given money for giving up their “property” The speech didn’t free all slaves but only the one’s living in states not under Union control This was enough to get people to start realizingthat slavery was coming to an end
