At the end of the 20th century, when the tourism was increased in the zone, the guides realized that if a person applauds of frontal form to the perron, the sound of the plaudit propagates about the beginning of the steps and bounces forming a distorted echo. That is to say, the same plaudit returns in the shape of shriek.

Chichén Itzá has owner. The family Barbachano, owners of the company Mayaland, they bought the area when the place still was not of public interest. After years of resistance, the State of Yucatan bought them him for approximately 220 million weight.

His name comes from the Mayan words: "Chi" (mouth), "Che'en" (well), "Itz" (magician or wizard) and "Há" (waters down), on having joined the words there is obtained the mouth of the well of the wizards of the water. " In the shore of the well of the water wizards ".

In this place one finds the Temple Kukulkán, which has four perrons, of 91 steps each one, that in total they add 364 and adding the top platform they are 365.
