Hispanic Heritage in America The roots of Hispanic Heritage in America stretch from the Caribbean to California and back more than five hundred years. Bordering Mexico and Cuba, the US has been a popular place for immigrants to come and start a new life.

Famous Latinos in the United StatesSalma Hayek is a famous actress and starred in the movie Grown Ups. Sofia Vergara is also a famous actress on the TV series Modern Family, and is 43 years old. George Lopez is 52 and is a comedian and actor on TV.

The states that have more Latinos’ influence in the USAThe states that have more Latinos’ influence in the USA are Florida, New York, and California. These states all have a large Latino population.

Here are some facts: 155,000 Cubans migrated to Florida in 1960.

In 1965 Oscar de la Renta, a Dominican-American fashion designer, opened his own shop in New York. His work was met with great critical acclaim.

In 1962 Cezar Chaves founded the National Farm Workers Association in California to get better wages and working conditions for grape pickers and other farm workers.

Latinos in the United States CongressWith 30 Hispanic congress people in the House of Representatives and three in the US Senate, 2015 will have the highest percentage of Latinos in congress in United States’ history.

Currently, the states with the highest amounts are:

California, 9 Latinos in Congress

Texas, 6

Florida, 3

ConclusionHispanic culture has had a big influence on American life. Hispanic Heritage influenced American food, music, and dance. There are many other things that the spanish contributed such as architecture and literature. I hoped you enjoyed our project thank you for listening.
