Wave Properties of Light

• Reflection- when a wave strikes an object and bounces off.

• Incident beam- light from the light source

• Reflected beam- light that bounces back.

• Normal- line drawn perpendicular to the surface of the mirror.

• Angle of incidence (i)- angle formed from incident beam and the normal

• Angle of reflection (r)- angle formed from reflected beam and the normal

• Law of reflection- The angle of incidence (i) equals the angle of reflection (r).

• Refraction- the bending of waves caused by a change in the speed when it moves from 1 medium to another.
