About The Author

Hi! Iʼm Dylan and this is what I like todo,play football, play on thecomputer,and play baseball.My favoritesport is hunting.I am writing about theosprey because it is a really cool animal.Ihave 4 brothers and 1 sister.My mom anddad are divorced so I have 4 families.Mydadʼs side,my momʼs side,my step dadʼsside,and my step momʼs side.Mybrotherʼs names areZack,Caleb,Carter,and Elijah.My sisterʼsname is Amaria.I also like to sit on thecouch and watch TV.I likefishing,hunting,and football out of all thesports in the world.

Who Am I? Ospreys are very good fishers.

They donʼt eat much of anything else. Its nest is mostly bya river or lake. They donʼtreally care about what kind offish they eat they just grabwhatever fish there is. Theplaces they live are basicallyeverywhere. Its enemies arehumans. People have watchedan osprey and told people thatit takes about 4 to 5 times tocatch a fish and they havebeen known to catch 2 at themost fish at one time.

The Early Years

A baby osprey is very small andthey are rarely seen. A breedingpair probably mates for life andcome back to the same nestevery year. The bottom of thenest is made of soft grass.Females guard the nest whilethe males provide the food. At 4to 5 weeks the baby startsflapping its wings for exercise.At 7 to 8 weeks it takes off andflies around the world.

The osprey eats a lot of fish.Theonly thing it eats is usuallyfish.The most popular fish iteats is salmon or trout.peoplealways say they see ospreys bylakes or rivers because it lovesfish.

When ever you seethese tracks you willknow its an osprey.You might not seethem much thoughbecause an osprey is aflying animal. And itbarely ever lands onthe ground. When yousee them they arereally really rare.

In flight the osprey has been knownfor its crooked wings as they flyoverhead. From a distance anosprey looks like a bald eagle. But ithas its differences like its black feet,black beak and crooked wings.
