WELCOME TO THE SECOND OF THE SUCCESS PSYCHOLOGY POWER BRIEFINGS!

Success Psychology aims to understand the principles required to master the success mind-set and present them for the benefit of others. The aim of the Power Briefings are to make them available to an even wider group of people.

In this second visual briefings from ‘Success Psychology’, I’ll be looking at what I consider to be the three essential components of a Success ‘Mind-Set’.

3 Essential Components of a Success Mind-set

In order to obtain success in whatever your chosen field is, you need to have the right ‘mind-set.’

I personally believe there are three essential components that are required in order to create a powerful ‘success mind-set’. These components are not something just limited to super-achievers. The truth is, anybody can do it!:

Everyone has limiting beliefs, it has we deal with them that matters. By limiting beliefs, I mean the deep rooted ideas a person has about themselves deep in their subconscious. They are difficult to change, very often because they have been embedded for so long. However, if they are not tackled and are left to fester in the background, they will soon re-emerge and begin the process of self-sabotage that can derail any progress towards achievement.

ACTION:

If you have limiting beliefs you need to deal with, NLP has some very useful strategies for dealing with them. You can find a qualified NLP practitioner by clicking the following link:

Component 1# - Remove Limiting

Beliefs

Component 2#: Create a Powerful Self-Belief in your own abilities to

Succeed

The opposite to ‘limiting beliefs’ is a powerful self-belief in one’s own ability to succeed. If you believe that you cannot fail in whatever you do and that nothing will deter you from achieving, the chances of success are very, very high. The person who has a powerful self-belief does not recognise failure – they only see it as a form of ‘feed-back.’ In other words, they learn from their mistakes and find new ways of doing things.

ACTION:The mind can be re-conditioned to adopt more powerful self-beliefs.

For this type of work, I would highly recommend the following book by Paul McKenna: Change Your Life in 7 Days

Component 3#: Eliminate fear by

taking action

Fear is a state which can take control of us unless we take control of it. Although fear exists as an essential survival mechanism and should often be seen as friend, it should not be allowed to dominate otherwise the outcome will be ‘paralysis’.

Fear can be conquered a number of ways, but one of the most effective is just to take action. Whatever your goal, be prepared to work through any fear you have by taking action to move towards that goal. In all the likelihood, the fear will disappear very rapidly!

ACTION:If there is something you have been putting off because of fear, why not just try starting it anyway? You may find that the fear will quickly dissipate once you get into it!
