The Verb ESTAR- p.107

Remember:

• Regular verbs are verbs which follow a regular pattern.

• Irregular verbs are verbs which DO NOT follow a regular pattern.

• An irregular –ar verb that we are going to learn is the verb estar which means to be in Spanish.

• Estar is used to tell how someone feels or where someone or something is located.

• Estar is irregular because the yo form doesn’t follow a regular pattern and because the forms estás, está, and están require accent marks.

• Here are the conjugations for the verb ESTAR.

ESTAR= To be

Estoy Estamos

Estás Estáis

Está Están

Page 13: 2.21 sp1

Actividad 9- p.107• Complete actividad 9 on your sheet of paper.

• Don’t forget that estar is irregular and doesn’t follow a pattern.
