-What is a text summary?
Summary: noun (plural summaries)a brief statement or account of the main points of something.
Summary: Outline, synopsis, core, condensation
Your summary should be a reasonable representation of the whole text, not just part of it.

-How to do it?The summary should be put together from the notes that you have made as you worked through the reading, and should as far as possible be in your own words. You must stick to the word count (650 words). This demonstrates your skill at being able to sift through the material to decide which are most relevant points of the text.

2.THE TEXT PRESENTATION AND THE TEXT SUMMARY
PHOT20118Seminar Text Presentation and Summary Submission Guidelines
-Why?The main purpose is to read and understand the meaning of the text and then to demonstrate you can put text's main ideas into your own words. It is possible to make quite different summaries from each text.Remember, there are no simple ‘right answers’ as such; however, beingaccurate in defining an issue is often a measure of how closely you havefollowed the author’s arguments. The evidence is in the reading andtranslation. You must be careful not to get caught up in flights of fancy, or inexpressing your own opinion, or in giving an account of the seminar activityitself. It is the text and its ideas you are summarising.
