ANNIE’S IDEA

Water pouring down in the bath (dark room, you don’t anything) dramatic sound when the tap is opening *squeak squeak*

A hand picks up water to wash her

Turns around to look in the mirror to clean her face (dramatically) *looks in the mirror*

Zones off into the mirror – flash back of her running from a shadow

Runs dramatically looking back huffing and puffing

Still zoned off into the mirror (flash back) of her running down a long corridor she trips up but gets up and keeps running

The phone ringing she looks at it and leaves the bathroom backwards – the door bell rings and she looks at the door dramatically – END!

which ideA we’ve chosen And whY?

We decided to go for Annie’s because we like the fact that, it is well detailed

Clear to read

Has good stage directions

There’s a lot of drama in it that which we can develop and make it better

And everyone will have a part to play in this film

As a group we’ve decided that we like the stage directions in the

opening sequence.

we also like the start of the opening sequence

We’ve decided we might change some of the location's and some

of the characters roles

Annie’s idea.....

IDEA WEVE CHOSEN AND CHANGES WE HAVE

MADE

Page 11: 19 group opening sequence draft 4

Why we choose psychological thriller?

We chose psychological thriller because we find it

interesting on how it affects the audience and makes

them think more carefully about what’s going on in the

film.

We also like the fact that they don’t focus on special

effects and it relates what people in the film are going

through.

takes you out of your own world and makes you think

about people who are mental different e.g. Mental

issue, confident issues

the effect and the way they portray the characters

make’s you want to watch it more

Part C

Page 12: 19 group opening sequence draft 4

Psychology is a science of behaviour and mental processes.

Its immediate goal is to understand individuals and groups by both establishing general principles and

researching specific cases.

psychological can also mean concerned with a person’s mind and thoughts

Psychologists attempt to understand the role of mental functions in individual and social behaviour, while also

exploring the physiological

Psychological

Thriller

thrillers focus on plot over character and thus emphasize intense, physical action over the character's psyche.

Page 13: 19 group opening sequence draft 4

Psychological thriller

Psychological thrillers tend to reverse this formula to a certain degree, emphasizing the characters just as

much, if not more so, than the plot.

Characters are no longer dependent on physical strength to overcome their wild enemies (which is often the

case in typical action-thrillers), but rather are reliant on their mental resources, whether it be by battling common

sense with a terrifying opponent or by battling for equilibrium in the character's own mind

The suspense created by psychological thrillers often comes from two or more characters preying upon one

another's minds, either by playing deceptive games with the other or by merely trying to demolish the other's

mental state

Have images here from movies that explain the above!!!

Page 14: 19 group opening sequence draft 4

Examples of psychological Thriller The uninvited

What its about

About a girl that comes back from a mental hospital

and was in there because she had issues dealing with

her mothers death.

When she comes back she find out that her mothers

old carer is dating her father, and becomes suspicious

of the nurse and thinks that she is dating the father

Why we were inspired by this

• Because there was a really big twist at the end of

the film. It was unexpected and added excitement

because the audience didn’t expect it

Page 15: 19 group opening sequence draft 4

Inception

In a world where technology exists to enter the

human mind through dream invasion, a highly skilled

thief is given a final chance at redemption which

involves executing his toughest job to date:

Inception.

What its about

Why we were inspired by it

• Because things happen in the film that the

audience doesn’t expect to happen

• The fact that it was all about dreams

• They way that they confuse the audience

Page 16: 19 group opening sequence draft 4

They entered the house after

asking if they could come in

for something to drink.

He ask the lady if he could

come in to have something to

drink and met the new

neighbours

One of the characters

punched the dad for no

reason

He grabs the mother by the

head and asks her to take her

top of

Funny games

They make the family sit in

front of them and ask them

questions that play with their

minds

Page 17: 19 group opening sequence draft 4

We was inspired by funny games, again we liked the fact that they were so nice to the family

at the start of the film visiting them, telling them they're going to have a really good time as

neighbours. However as soon as they enter the house they hit the dad and both the

characters mood/personalities change. They locked all the doors and closed all the

windows. We like the fact the they had mix personalities because they were mean and horrid

towards the family then they’ll offer them something to drink and start being mean to them

again. It’s a bit like what’s going to happen in our movie.

whY we wAs inspired bY funnY gAmes…

Page 32: 19 group opening sequence draft 4

HOW ARE WE GOING TO CREATE ENIGMA?!We’ll create enigma by leaving……

The audience in suspense so they would want to watch it the full thing to see what happens in the rest of the

film.

We’ll do this by making our opening sequence very catchy and strong.

Also at the way start it with the type of music we use and the fact that we don’t really speak at the start.

Part J

STYLE OF TITLING & CREDITSThese styles and credits are from black swan, we liked them because the writing we’re simple and also we liked

the fact that each writing had a border around it. We also like that the credits went all at the start and they we’re
