10 Golden Hand Safety Rules

1. Identify all potential hand injury hazards before you start work

2. Make sure machine safety guards are in place before you begin any activity

3. Wherever practicable always use a grinder with a handle fitted

4. Always use the correct tool for the job & use it properly

5. Only use specific safety knifes, do not use fixed blade knifes

6. Always keep hands away from pinch points and crushing hazards

7. When cleaning machinery or handling swarf, always wear gloves and use a hand brush

8. Remove hand jewellery before performing work activities

9. Always wear the right gloves for the task in hand

10. Keep your hands clean, never ignore a hand injury, and know the signs of dermatitis
