Social Issue: PovertyVolunteer Interviewed: Sarah ElmoreInterviewed By Tyler Elmore 10-7-16

Social Issue Problem – PovertySummary of Interview with Sarah Elmore

There were many poverty issues in the 1900s, but like Jane Adams believed (see slide 3), Sarah Elmore also believes helping less fortunate children will mold them into more responsible and more educated young adults. Getting kids involved in activities like sports teaches kids discipline, responsibility, teamwork and good work ethics. When kids learn these types of qualities at a young age, they have a better chance of becoming more successful in life and avoiding poverty. They are also more likely to become volunteers within their own communities.
