What we can do:

Create Jobs

Enhance Economic activity of that area

Develop skills in that region (Fabrication, Construction etc)

Bring good infrastructure to the area

Create good infrastructure

Add to the Religious (temples) & Social (Community halls, Play grounds) infrastructure

Be a catalyst to bring innovative ideas to the region (Micro Credit, Skill Development centres)

Create Jobs- Gave livelihood to over 50 breadwinners who in turn collectively impact over 250 people

Enhance Economic activity of that area especially during project construction

Develop skills in that region (Fabrication, Construction etc)

Create good infrastructure for that area- Road Network- Telecom Network- Fuel Depots

Add to the Religious (temples) & Social (Community halls, Play grounds) infrastructure

Be a catalyst to bring innovative ideas to the region (Micro Credit, Skill Development centres)

“Sunkudamane Electrification”- a NANI Initiative

A tiny hamlet of 35 households

So remote that this area has no lights for years and did not figure in the Next 5 year State Electrification Plan

N.K. Narayan (GM-Projects) popularly known as Nani saw the plight first hand

He identified a Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources (MNES) Program-Remote Village Electrification Program (RVEP)

This programs aim is to bring solar lighting to those areas where conventional lighting will not come up in the next 5 years

He single handedly liaised with the Government for 2 years and with the company backing him this hamlet had electricity for the first time in its history in 2007

Why doing all of this makes Business Sense and should be done while setting up

the project and not, after:

Great “feel good” factor

Great employee motivation tool

Great Employee retention tool

Loads of benefits when local stakeholder supports you
