Free Dental and Vision Care Services

Remote Area Medical® Clinic comes to Van Buren County

WHAT: The Van Buren County Head Start Multi-services Advisory Council is hosting a

Remote Area Medical® Clinic (R.A.M.) in order to provide free dental and vision services to occupants of Van Buren County and surrounding counties.

WHY: With the rising costs of medical care and medical insurance, many families and

individuals in our community currently have no medical coverage. Those who possess

insurance often have little or no dental or vision coverage. The Remote Area Medical®

Clinic will provide free medical services that are otherwise unavailable to the residents of

our communities. Doctors, dentists and other professionals volunteer their time and

even pay their own way to provide access to care for anyone who needs it. Patients are

treated on a first come, first served basis - no income test, no proof of insurance, no questions asked.

WHERE: Van Buren County High School Gymnasium, Spencer TN

WHEN: Saturday, April 18, 2009, 6am; Sunday, April 19, 2009, 6am

HOW: Services provided include: dental cleanings, fillings, fluoride treatments and

extractions and vision examinations and glasses.

People will be issued numbered tickets to receive services. Come Friday or Saturday

night at 8:00pm to get your ticket! Early arrival will be turned away until 8pm! The clinic

is open to anyone, no matter where you live. Large crowds are anticipated! Bring your

own snacks and food.

WHO: This event has been organized by the Multi-Service Advisory Council of the Van

Buren County Head Start. Many community partners are involved including: the sheriff’s

department, local fire departments, Fall Creek Falls State Park, the school system,

county government, the health department and many local businesses and churches.
