In our music video we wanted to use natural lighting and the weather (cloudy/rainy) added more affect to the artist emotions and what the lyrics were saying this than relates to the digipak of the artist looking down/away from the camera. Also the body language and facial expression were shown dull and not keen but there was a different side to him when he was shown with his girlfriend in the flashback which showed more of his personality.

We have used location shot and a still image which is shown in the front cover of the CD, left inside and the advert which links to the music video and the audience will be able to familiarise with it. The idea of our colour scheme came from the subway the colours black, white and yellow were consistent throughout the CD packaging and the advert. However for the advert we have chosen a location shot which is different to the case studies that we have looked at such as Adele 21 who had used a studio shot. As a group we wanted the advert to link/relate to the cd packaging so we used a yellow border and a white and yellow font. In addition we have star rating from NME magazine we have chosen this magazine as they mostly post indie/folk genres on their website and their magazine. We took inspiration to add a star rating from the George Ezra Poster.

The fonts we used for our digipak shows a form of consistency. This is because the typography was the same on the CD package as well as the advert. We used the symbol ‘x’ this was used throughout the whole CD packaging and was name of the single .We did this so that audience again will be able to identify that the overall product are associated with one another. The back cover that inspired our print products were Ed Sheeran and 1975 both these covers are similar to the genre. We took inspiration from the song listing layout and there was no images used. We also included the website which is a way for the audience to access the music and a way for the fans to know more about the artist. Synergy is used in our CD package as it includes the record label ‘asylum’ on the back cover

In our music video we had used flashbacks which were shown in black and white. This relates to our print product as the right side of the cd packaging is a black and white image also there is a hint of yellow in the centre which again follows the colour scheme.

If we were operating in the real world we would use posters to display of the artist new singles and advertise on YouTube. Many artists have used this form of advertisement to reach their audiences. We would also use social sites for example instagram, twitter, tumblr. These sites will help to promote new or existing projects which may gain them deals from other record labels also these sites are free to access. It also allows fans to interact with the artist.
