STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:Due to the group’s intention of saving Mother Earth and reducing harmful chemicals, the researchers hope to combat the following problems through the use of the Foot- Pedalled Washing Machine.

How to endure insufficient or no electricity to wash clothes in outlying areas.How to avoid destructive fires caused by overused appliances that destroy not only properties but lives of people as well.How to combat climate change due to Green House gases caused by different chemicals.How to lessen high electricity bills.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY:

Problems that we encounter during the time that we use our washing machines.

In order to give solutions to the difficulties, the researchers thought of making a Laundry Machine

MATERIALS:

PROCEDURES:1. Make a hole at the center of the bucket and at the back for insertion of the plastic rope.

(Make sure that both holes are parallel to each other and are fit for the water pipes)

2. Insert the water pipe at the hole of the lid, put the lid back on to the bucket, then before inserting the pipe at the back.

3. The two knots or loops at the both ends of the plastic fiber rope.

(make sure that the knots or holes can fit the size of your shoe for pedalling) Then wind it around the plastic reel leaving both loops dangling.

4. For a steady device; make a hole at the ground and put the end of the pipes or members can directly step on it. Cycle for the rotation of the bucket.

In the table, the electric consuming machine releases 1.06% of CFC and 1.9 % of lead when uses. This is the result of the electrical usage of the Electric Washing Machine. When compared, the Foot- Pedalled Laundry Machine is 100% environment friendly because it is manually powered so no electricity is consumed and no chemicals are released to the environment.

After making the final product, the researchers tested the electric- based machine and the Manually operated device using clothes with chocolate, catsup, and mud stains. The level of cleanliness isa based on the table above.

In the table, using 1 pack of 100 g of detergent of the same brand and type and 2 gallons of water, it is known that the first wash trial was not at its best. Although, it was able to remove stains on the clothes, it was not done completely compared to the results of the Electric- powered Washing Machine.

In the second wash, which was done with the same amount of detergent and water, the performance of the machine was better than that of the first wash trial.

In the third wash trial, which was still done with the same amount of detergent and water, the results of the Foot- Pedalled Washing Machine were nearly the same with the outcome of the Electric based Washing Machine. The third trial, compared to the first and second, it can be concluded that the performance of the Foot- Powered Washing Machine improved.

Summary:With the group’s knowledge and

understanding of the purpose and significance of the Foot- Pedalled Laundry Machine;

Reduce electrical usageSave time and moneySave energyHelp the planet through environment- friendly products.

This manually- operated device is simple household improvised product, thus recycled and viable materials are used, so the Laundry Machine has fitted the group’s aims towards the conservation, protection, and [reservation of the human planet.

Conclusion:

The Foot- Pedalled Washing machine was designed to wash clothes without using electricity. Based on the findings of the study, it is environment friendly as it releases no lead and CFC in the surroundings and it is clean and safe to use.

Recommendation:This device is most especially recommend to those who would willingly conserve and save money, time, and energy, for it is easy to construct, affordable, and does not emit any dangerous chemicals to the environment.

Furthermore, this manually- operated device can also be used by people living in outlying areas with little or no connection to power plants that distribute electricity throughout the community due to under development.

Moreover, in order to enhance the product, the dedicated users may use bicycle pedals instead of ropes attached to water pipes for more comfortable position.
