Today’s Agenda
• Purpose• How it works• Suggested books and activities• Participation and recognition• Flexibility: make it yours! • Promoting the program• Resources• Questions and suggestions
Purpose
As Indiana’s securities regulator, the Secretary of State’s office is committed to putting financial criminals behind bars and protecting Hoosiers against such fraudsters. Hoosiers with a solid foundation in personal finance are better prepared to say no to scams. They’re also more confident making decisions that will improve their financial lives.

Student Completion
My daughter's name is Kyleigh Moore. She completed the Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson's Summer Reading Program. She is seven years old and is a second grader at Lost Creek Elementary School. My daughter heard about the program at our public library and was up for the challenge. I have attached pictures of her activities, the books she read, and a copy of the participation summary. I hope this information is enough to complete the program, if not please email me back. My daughter learned a great deal about the value of money. Thank you for taking the time to set up such a great summer program. Sincerely,Angela Graham

Make it yours! Incorporate books and activities into current programs.
– Require students to choose one financial literacy book.– Require students to do a financial literacy activity.
Use this to start a financial literacy program at your library.– Example: Get in the Game! Focus on Money Smarts!– Add additional books and activities to SOS lists.
Host Secretary Lawson’s office for a “Financial Literacy Day” event at your library. We travel the entire state to provide free presentations.
