University of Economics in Bratislava, Faculty of National Economy, Department of Banking and International Finance, Slovak Republic cordially invites you to 9 th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CURRENCY, BANKING AND INTERNATIONAL FINANCE Challenges for Financial Sector of CEE Countries in Overcoming Problems of Economic Integration in the EU Department of Banking and International Finance will host an international conference on the topic above, on 20 and 21 September 2016 in Bratislava, Slovak Republic. This conference is aimed at bringing scholars both from the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and other parts of the world to discuss experience of the CEE in overcoming the problems related to the process of economic integration in Europe. The financial sector of the CEE is known to have gone through substantial economic and social transformation as a precondition for joining the European Union or the EMU. In light of the recent financial crisis the CEE financial sector is daily confronted with the overall instability of world financial market. The conference shall therefore map successful stories of CEE economic transformation so far and highlight new challenges to the future of economic integration in Europe from the perspective of financial sector. In our call for papers we ask for contributions that will focus on following areas of research and will be written in English language: 1) Problems of macroeconomic imbalance and sustainability of single monetary policy 2) Interactions between monetary and fiscal policy 3) Building up of the banking union and its expected impact 4) Reflection of European economy instability on financial markets 5) Geopolitical problems and their consequences on price and financial stability in Europe Publication: Full versions of accepted papers will be published in the proceedings on CD. The proceedings will have an ISBN number. All papers that will successfully pass double-blind review process will be published in a printed book proceedings indexed in the Thomson Conference Proceedings Citation Index (formerly ISI Proceedings) accessible at the Web of Science. sponsoring a special issue. Further information will be posted at the conference website.

Dates and deadlines:

Submission of application and abstract: 12 June 2016

Notification of abstract acceptance: 19 June 2016

Payment of conference fee: 10 July 2016

Submission of paper: 4 September 2016

Conference Fee: The conference fee is 250€ for all attendees and it includes presentation of

paper, conference materials, conference proceedings (full papers on CD with ISBN), coffee

breaks, two lunches, reception and optional cultural event.
