Scenic background represents the idea of it

being “in a perfect world”

Calm waters represent that everything is good, if they

were stormy waters we would think otherwise

The blue skies reinforce the idea of “in a perfect world”

Bands name in the centre of the cover to the top which is a conventional place for

the artist name

The centre of attention in the album cover is on the pontoon, the wide open

space around them can be seen as representing

tranquillity in “a perfect world”

The album cover is just a long shot of people on a pontoon in a

mountain lake

the artist name

The art on the cover is a place which is symbolic of a dream. This links to the name of the

album “Night Visions”

Centre of attention is the boy in the middle of the

cover. The boy on his own signals senses of loneliness

The cloudy/foggy/misty look gives a blurred complexion to the background this leads the

audience to feel like it is a dream.

The boy in the middle is wearing very casual clothes (we can presume they are

male as they have short hair and wearing sports shorts). His posture is very relaxed, as if he is not blown away

by this strange location

The circle of hexagons could be representing that he is trapped as there is no way

off of this group of hexagons.

the artist name

Green leather background looks as if it is a leather

bound book

Centre of attention is in the middle of the frame. Very old fashioned looking font. The FT HC stands for Frank

Turner Hard core.

The bones in the symbol are a link to the album name

“Keep My Bones”

The style of this cover is very old fashioned. The album is about mortality and Englishness. The

name of the album is a Shakespeare quote, this was used

to reinforce the Englishness around the album.

Album art used for other revenue streams

the artist name

Unconventionally there is nothing in the centre of the

frame.

Centre of attention is unconventionally the bands

logo instead of a piece of art used with a central focus

Cover split into thirds, Album and logo at the top, nothing in the middle third, and the band in the lower

third.

Linkin Park are a huge band, they do not need to have a

very interesting cover as their name will sell the

album

The band are standing around as if they are waiting for

something which may be a link to waiting for midnight

Page 5: Album Cover Analysis

Artist logo is positioned unlike most other digipaks

and is to the left top of cover

Centre of attention is the man on the golden path to

earth

The broken tessellation pattern gives the effect that

this person has/is something out of the

ordinary. The way he is looking at the Earth makes the audience believe that he is taking the world by storm. The way he is the only person may link him

resisting the norm.

The second layer of the tessellated pattern gives the audience an impression that there is a deeper meaning

behind the album

Different cover for vinyl edition a more spherical

pattern. This is a older look similar to the time where

vinyl's were popular
