Linux adoption

Pilot phase in 2012• IRVTUS3N• BRASBRRJ• BSCHESMM• CEDELULL

– Achieved 80TPS with one Access and 2 SNLs

• EUGIDKKK– Focus on FileAct over SAG

• JERSILIT– Focus on Access

Today• JERSILIT is live SAA only• EUGIDKK is live SAG/SNL only• CEDELULL is planning• BSCHESMM all SNL/SAG in 2013• XLUXLULB testified at SIBOS 2013• Large bank in Japan achieves

sustained 35 TPS in production for the JASDEC service (SAA, SAG)

• Central infrastructure in AT live with 17 BICs since Nov 2013

35 Access on Linux contracts95 Live BICs with Access on Linux

Going through 26 SNLs

Includes 14 Premium customers

40 additional BICs in test

Linux adoption: Common challenges

• RHEL as part of the company platform strategy– What is the maturity of RHEL usage in the company– How ready is the tooling for monitoring and backup– Is virtualization deployed at the same time

• Different people involved– Changes in procedures, processes and responsibilities

• Regaining trust to manage critical systems in a new environment

• In maintenance mode already since December 2010.• Microsoft ended support for Windows XP in April 2014

– Workstation qualified using Vista, not using Windows 7• Alliance Web Platform SE provides functional alternative• A survey has been launched to get a better view on adoption and

blocking factors. This helps us identifying final gap.

• Workstation retirement announcement will be made during 2014.

SOFE 2014: 2015 roadmap Alliance interfaces

Proposal to retire Alliance Workstation by end October 2017

Page 45: 2015 Roadmap- Alliance interfaces

Alliance Web Platform using IBM WebSphere Application Server• Today two variants of Web Platform exist:

– Using IBM WebSphere Application Server (Web Platform)– Using and embedded Application Server (Web Platform SE)

• The IBM WAS (Web Platform) version has a very limited number of users and will be retired by November 2015– Patch 7.0.50 (Dec 2013) will probably be the last enhancement– MST2015 patch of Access will not be tested against IBM WAS– No qualification against

• AIX 7.1, Solaris 11.1, RHEL 6.4• IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.x

SOFE 2014: 2015 roadmap Alliance interfaces

We will only keep Web Platform SE and enhance this further

Page 46: 2015 Roadmap- Alliance interfaces

Alliance Integrator retirement

• In maintenance mode already since December 2011.• Alternatives:

– Alliance Access Integration Platform (IPLA) – Converter for Lite2 – Alliance Messaging Hub (AMH)

• Retirement announced in 22 November 2013• End-of-Support: April 2016• Ongoing campaign to make sure all customers migrate to an

alternative solution
