    GrinderCrusherScreen’s ‘TKV’GrinderCrusherScreen Inc. introduced a

unique product reduction technology called“TKV,” short for Tornadic Kinetic Vortex, nicknamed “Tornado in a Can.”

This technology has been in existence foryears; however, the price has made it out ofreach, until now. After much product devel-opment, GrinderCrusherScreen is promotingthe “TKV” as its choice of technologies fora secondary grinder for many applicationswhere a fine material is needed “TKV” cantake bark nuggets to powder, unscreenedcompost to a fine highly desired material, roofing shingles to a fine grade recycledmaterial, MSW to fluff, glass to sand orpowder and manure to fertilizer.

Company representatives say that thistechnology is like having a tornado passmaterial through an 8’-0 nonagon steel struc-ture with ¾” steel walls. The destruction isvast, and it rivals sticking a tornado inside anine-sided structure where the devastation ismagnified and devastating. The flying mate-rial is quickly reduced by hitting each otherand by slamming into the nine walls. Unliketraditional grinders where the hammers andtips do the grinding, in this technology themachine is creating vortexes. The result ofthe vortexes is material reduction. Theresult is considerably lower operating costs,

less wear on the machine and a more eco-nomical way to process.

GrinderCrusherScreen is promoting theGCS Tornadic Kinetic Pulverizer as a sec-ondary processor able to accept 12 in. minusmaterial. Regardless of the material,GrinderCrusherScreen recommends the useof a shredder with a magnet for primaryshredding, and the “TKV” for the finishingwork. The “Tornado in a Can” technologygives customers the ability to produce con-siderably finer material than traditionalequipment.
