ZW3D 2020 Overview
• 1986, one of the first commercial pc-based solid modelers was developed by Mark Vorwaller
• 1999, the first version of Hybrid modeling product was released
• 2002, VX(ZW3D) was named Golden product by NASA, as VX(ZW3D) integrates product design and manufacturing to eliminate the gap between CAD and CAM packages.
• 2012, ZW3D V16 achieved 10 times faster graphics performance

New Rough Offset
• Rough Offset is required for all casting molds, like automotive press molds.
• “Rough Offset” feature is used to create the rough offset surface based on the product model. Only its main characteristics
will be kept.

• Customize the sketch of the selected edge to create the special-shaped flange, which can greatly simplify modeling process

New Rule for Well-defined Status
Old rule: When the components are constrained and their positions are fixed, they will be marked as well-defined.
New rule: When the components are constrained with a range setting, they could be marked as well-defined.
It means that well-defined components can be moved within a specific range.
• This new rule helps users add reasonable constraints and make the assembly status clearer

This improvement helps save time in setting the definition of unimportant constraints, so as to improve efficiency.
