Zoo Boise Director
We’re looking for a rare breed to join the City of Boise as Zoo Boise Director and Executive Director of Friends of Zoo Boise, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports Zoo Boise, someone who wants to roll up their sleeves and lead the organization in a wide variety of responsibilities toward the vision of making Boise the most livable City in the country.
The City of Boise offers a unique opportunity to carry an important mission of conservation forward: Zoo Boise has recently completed an $8.9 million capital campaign to highlight wildlife conservation in Mozambique. The right candidate will jump in, ready to lead the construction phase of a new 2.5 acre Gorongosa National Park exhibit, expanding the zoo’s footprint and contributing to Zoo Boise’s reputation as one of the leaders in conservation partnerships.
Zoo Boise is located in the heart of Boise’s downtown parks and greenbelt system, and was accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums for the fourth time in September 2017.
The Director joins the leadership team of the Parks and Recreation department and exemplifies the City’s vision, mission, and values in our community.

The Director leads a dedicated team of 30 in management and operations, and oversees a budget of $2.3 million (not including capital).
