The Spencer House Inn, a 10,000 ft2 property built in 1872, is located in the heart of the St. Marys Historic District and is nine miles east of I-95, half way between Savannah and St. Augustine. Restaurants, shops, museums, outfitter, bike rental and the ferry to Cumberland Island National Seashore are all within a short walk from the Inn.

Popular for guests is an adventure to the beautiful, undeveloped and pristine Cumberland Island, Georgia’s southern most barrier island. The island is on the Colonial Coast Birding Trail and National Geographic Traveler magazine voted the island as having “one of the best wild beaches.”

Guests enjoy strolling through the historic village to the waterfront park, fishing piers, boat ramp and marsh walk. The Inn has cypress rockers for relaxing on the verandas. There are golf courses nearby. Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge is 45 minutes away and the beaches of Jekyll, St. Simons and Amelia Islands are a short drive away.
