10.00am: Convene at the Galleria Europa – Renzo Imbeni meeting room (ground floor of the Town
Hall) in Piazza Grande.
10.30am: Mayor of Modena, Gian Carlo Muzzarelli, arrives (TO BE CONFIRMED IN EARLY SEP).
10.30am: Welcome address by Prof. Lorenzo Infantino (President of Italian Linacre Society).
10.35am: Short speech in Italian by Mayor Muzzarelli.
10.40am: Photo opportunity with Mayor.
10.45am: Mayor leaves.
10.45am: “Global Linacre events in 2018”, talk by Dr. Anne Keene (Business Development Director
of Linacre College).
11.00am: “Linacre College today”, talk by Dr. Nick Brown (Principal of Linacre College).
11.15am: Italian Linacre Society Annual General Meeting presided over by Lorenzo and Arpita.
11.45pm: Italian Linacre Lecture 2018 (title TBD) in English by Prof. Matthew J. Gibney, Linacre
Fellow and Professor of Politics and Forced Migration at the University of Oxford.
12.30pm: Q&A session.
1.00pm: End of morning programme.
1.15pm: Walk 5 mins to Trattoria Il Fantino, Via Donzi 7, Modena.
1.30pm: Traditional Modenese lunch. €35 per person.
3.00pm: Walk 5 mins to the Ducal Palace (Military Academy) in Piazza Roma.
3.30pm: Private tour of the Modena Military Academy (former home of the Duke of Modena) in
English, 1.5 hours. €8 per person.
Security is of major importance at the Military Academy; therefore, you must send a copy of your and your guest's
(if any) photo ID (Passport or Identity Card) via email to [email protected] (mention Linacre College Oxford or
Arpita Pandya), by Monday, 10th September 2018. You must bring the same ID to be able to enter the Academy on
the day of the tour. Failure to provide your photo ID by the aforementioned deadline unfortunately means you will
not be able to join this very exclusive tour (no exceptions).
5.00pm: End of the official programme.
8.00pm: Dinner in city centre for those who are staying on in Modena. Restaurant TBD.

At the end of the day’s programme, please leave 20 mins to get from the
Military Academy (Ducal Palace) to the train station on foot.
