2009; Professor Dato’ Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang for the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement and Prof. Dr. Halimaton Hamdan for
Health, Science and Technology. UTM’s former Pro-Chancellor, the late Tun Fatimah Hashim was announced as one the recipients for the Education and Community category.

Malaysia Technology Exposition (MTE) 2010UTM won the five main awards of the exposition and
all 52 UTM products received awards at the Malaysian Technology Exposition organised by the Malaysian Association of Research Scientists (MARS) 2010.
Global Outreach ProgrammeAn initiative by UTM to enhance its students’ personal,
academic and professional perspective to be global ready graduates. To date 4830 have participated in the
programme which provides students with the opportunity to visit universities abroad.

National Intellectual Property Award (2006, 2009, 2010)
UTM is one of the major contributors to the development of the nation’s Intellectual Properties and has won the award
three times in the organisation category.
UTM Satellite Office in Japan 2010UTM is the only university in this region to establish a Satellite office in Japan to enhance collaboration in various fields with Japanese universities and industries. The officiating ceremony
was witnessed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia at Meiji University.
