The City of Asheboro, named an All-America City by the National Civic League and a Great Main Street Award Recipient, is conveniently located in Randolph County, the Heart of North Carolina. Within approximately 70 miles from the state’s capital, Raleigh to the east, Charlotte to the South, and only half an hour from the Piedmont Triad region of Greensboro and

High Point to the North, Asheboro is centrally located in our great state. Founded in 1796 as the county seat, Asheboro has a wonderful history of warm and welcoming hospitality. The city of Asheboro became known for its textile manufacturing industry, however, as the economy changed, Asheboro is now known as home to the North Carolina Zoo – the largest land mass zoo in the world! For baseball fans, the Asheboro Copperheads Baseball team compete in the Coastal Plain League – an all-wooden bat league – at the historic McCrary Ballpark in the summer season. History buffs will be enchanted with military artifacts and vintage airplanes at the North Carolina Aviation Museum and Hall of Fame, do not miss viewing the Piper J-3 “Flitfire” flown by Orville Wright! The largest private collection of antique Harley-Davidson® motorcycles in the country – 45
